Box Score Bradford, PA - On the road for the first time in over a month, the D'Youville Women's Soccer Team received their second straight loss at the feet of Pitt.-Bradford 6-1.
AMCC point leader and top goal scored Melissa Smith opened up the scoring with her conference leading 18th goal of the season. The Panthers added one more goal before half to make the score 2-0.
As she did 13 minutes into the first half, Smith once again scored 13 minutes into the second half for her 19th goal of the season to make the score 3-0. D'Youville netted a goal of their own just over 10 minutes later. Sophomore Rachel Hermanski (Buffalo, NY/Maryvale) scored to make the score 3-1, with the assist coming from freshman Emily Zeafla (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta).
Despite adding a goal to chip away at the Panther lead, it was too late. Pitt.-Bradford added 3 more goals, with Melissa Smith adding an assist and another goal to make her total 3. The Spartans were outshot 18-13 during the game.
D'Youville falls to 3-2 in conference play after the loss. Four games remain this season for the Spartans, all conference game. The only remaining home game for the women is Wednesday, October 22nd against Penn St.-Behrend.
The next game for the D'Youville Women's Soccer Team is Saturday, October 18th at La Roche beginning at 1pm.
