Erie, PA-Men's basketball opened strong at Penn State Behrend but a slow start to the second half was the difference in the team's 67-54 road loss.

Oliver Prince (Toronto, ONT/Jean Varnier) was a force tonight, recording a game-high double-double of 23 points and 17 rebounds in a season-high 30 minutes of action.  The Spartan's big shot 11 for 20 from the floor (55%) with 3 assists and 2 steals to his stat line.  Seven of Prince's boards were offensive. 

D'Youville trailed early, but a 12-0 run in the middle of the frame pushed the Spartans to a 30-29 halftime lead. The Spartans shot 52% in the first 20 minutes and kept the Lions attack off balance with a 1-2-2 zone defense.

The Spartans came out cold to start the second half. D'Youville made only a single two-point field goal in the first six-plus minutes and found themselves on the wrong end of a 12-2 run to open the half.

Jake Maryinewski (Depew, NY/Depew) and Marcus Clarke (Olean, NY/Archbishop Walsh) added 7 points apiece for the Spartans.

D'Youville (2-14, 1-8 AMCC) will play at Franciscan January 26th at 3:00 p.m.  The Spartans won the first meeting of the season back on December 8th 68-65 in Buffalo.
