D'Youville trailed early, but a 12-0 run in the middle of the frame pushed the Spartans to a 30-29 halftime lead. The Spartans shot 52% in the first 20 minutes and kept the Lions attack off balance with a 1-2-2 zone defense.
The Spartans came out cold to start the second half. D'Youville made only a single two-point field goal in the first six-plus minutes and found themselves on the wrong end of a 12-2 run to open the half.
Jake Maryinewski (Depew, NY/Depew) and Marcus Clarke (Olean, NY/Archbishop Walsh) added 7 points apiece for the Spartans.
D'Youville (2-14, 1-8 AMCC) will play at Franciscan January 26th at 3:00 p.m. The Spartans won the first meeting of the season back on December 8th 68-65 in Buffalo.
