Rochester, NY-D'Youville opened play in the Harold J. Brodie Tournament with a slow start and the first five minutes was all the difference in the team's 83-71 loss to host RIT.

New Spartan Oliver Prince (Toronto, ONT/Jean Varnier HS)made his D'Youville debut with a team-high 16 points and 9 rebounds.  Marcus Clarke (Olean, NY/Archbishop Walsh) added 15 points and Jon Gemerek (Cheektowaga, NY/Depew) chipped in with 12 points.

RIT jumped out to a 16-0 lead in the first 5:06 of the contest and never looked back.   D'Youville answered with a 13-5 first-half run and outscored the Tigers 42-37 in the second-half. 

The Spartans will face Manhattanville College in the consolation game tomorrow (Dec. 15) at 1:00 p.m.
