Steubenville, OH-Despite being outshot by a wide margin, D'Youville came out of a road game at Franciscan with a 2-1 win ending the team's three-game winless streak.

Danielle Gehen (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca West) scored the first D'Youville goal in the 23rd minute.  It was the third-year player's 37th career goal tying the career mark set by Amy Dziomba (2004-2007).

Kayla Hartnett (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) buried the game-winner in the 73rd minute.

D'Youville was outshot 23-9 (11-5 shots on goal) and Spartan goalkeeper Christina Ventresca (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) made 10 saves.

The win improves the Spartans to 7-5-1 overall, 3-3-1 in the AMCC.

The next match for D'Youville is Tuesday October 16 versus Hilbert College on the Spartan's home turf at the Riverside Athletic Complex.  Start time is 7:00 p.m.
