D'Youville University

Paul Hackford is was welcomed in 2022 as the men's volleyball graduate assistant.

Hackford joins D'Youville after graduating from St. John Fisher in 2021. The Orchard Park, N.Y. native was a four-year member of the Cardinal's men's volleyball team, and was named captain during his time. Hackford acquired a decorated playing career at St. John Fisher, including helping lead the team to the program's first UVC Men's Volleyball Championship in 2022. As a player, he appeared in 102 matches, recording 320 kills and 2,930 assists. He was also credited with 108 service aces and 583 digs. As a senior, Hackford was named to the Empire 8 All-Conference First Team and UVC All-Tournament Team. Hackford was a key ingredient to leading the program to its first NCAA appearance in program history.

Academically, Hackford was a science scholar and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.75 grade-point average. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry.

Currently residing in Orchard Park, N.Y., Hackford enjoys playing indoor, grass, and sand volleyball. He spends his free time cooking and exploring local coffee eateries.
