Devon Camel

Devon Camel is in his third season with the D'Youville men's basketball program as an assistant coach.

Camel's primary responsibilities include video breakdown, recruiting, branding, promoting, focusing on the team's guards and organizing the program's Elite Prospect Camp.

Before joining the coaching staff, Camel spent two seasons playing under head coach Earl Schunk after transferring from Medaille College. As a junior in 2017-18, Camel played in 24 games, starting seven times. He shot 47.6% from the field, averaging 4.5 PPG, 1.3 RPG, 0.9 APG, and 0.4 SPG during that season but was best known for his defensive prowess as he consistently was tasked with guarding the opposition's best player. As a senior in 2018-19, Camel became a greater offensive threat with 9.5 points per game, a 50.6 field goal percentage, 40.0 3-point percentage, and a 63.3 free throw percentage, setting career highs in all four categories. He started 18 of the team's 26 games and scored double-digits on 14 occasions. He eclipsed 20 points twice, including a career high 24 points and six rebound against RIT. Camel appeared in 16 games for Medaille across his freshman and sophomore campaigns.

At Cheektowaga High School, Devon played basketball for four years, where he was named to the All-Center Court Defense Team and was a two-time Section VI champion. He also played football for three seasons.

He is currently enrolled in the MBA program at D'Youville after receiving his bachelor's degree in business management from the College.
