BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The D'Youville women's cross country team opened its 2026 season with a strong runner-up finish Saturday at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic, placing second out of eight teams at Sweden Town Park.
Senior Barbara Kunz paced the Saints in the women's 5K, finishing third overall with a time of 20:05.8. Senior Lilianna Peters followed in sixth at 20:29.8, while sophomore Elaina Williams crossed seventh in 20:40.1 to give D'Youville three runners inside the top seven.
Junior Sienna Uebelhoer added a 15th-place finish in 20:55.5, while junior Melissa De Jong rounded out the Saints' scoring five in 21:35.0. D'Youville's first five runners finished within a 1:29.3 span, helping the Saints finish with 56 points, just 10 behind team champion Brockport State.
Freshman Arycela Guillen and sophomore Andrea Marquina also finished inside the 23 minute mark, crossing in 22:42.6 and 22:59.4, respectively.
Up next for D'Youville, they'll travel to Rochester, N.Y. on September 26th to compete in the Harry F. Anderson Invitational.
