BUFFALO, N.Y. — D'Youville (6-8, 3-2) earned a 14-10 victory at Dobson Field on Saturday, using a strong offensive surge and steady defensive play to secure the win that mattered for playoff implications.
The Saints responded to an early deficit behind Lauren Parker, who converted a free-position opportunity, and Danielle Gephart, who added a man-down goal to spark the offense. D'Youville continued to build momentum in the second quarter, as Madison McGinn, Lily Buckley, and Sam Newlin each found the back of the net, helping the Saints take control heading into halftime.
D'Youville's ball movement was a key factor throughout, finishing with a season-high 12 assists. Ireland Costigan and Madison Buck played important roles in facilitating the offense, while Parker added a player-up goal to extend the lead.
The Saints maintained their edge in the third quarter, with Parker and McGinn each scoring again, and Gephart adding another goal to keep the offense rolling. Defensively, Kaylee Farias anchored the Saints with 13 saves, making several key stops to preserve the lead.
In the fourth quarter, Gephart delivered in key moments, scoring twice, including a free-position goal, to help D'Youville pull away. Parker added another late goal to secure the advantage as the Saints closed out the 14-10 win.
