AMHERST, N.Y. — D'Youville fell to No. 2 Daemen University, 90-65, on Saturday at Lumsden Gymnasium.
Down early in the first half, the Saints were led by
Dawson Matsell, who sparked a comeback with a pair of free throws and a three-pointer to tie the game at 5-5 around the 16:23 mark. Despite these efforts, the Wildcats regained control and maintained an edge through effective shooting and capitalizing on fast breaks, leading 45-32 at the end of the first half.
DYU's offense found a rhythm midway through the second half with a notable sequence, including a three-pointer from
Sean Reynolds at 10:03, cutting into the Wildcats' lead.
Nathan Andrice contributed by scoring a fast-break layup at 9:28, followed by a dunk at 2:05, showing persistence in the paint. Despite these efforts, the Wildcats maintained their advantage through efficient shooting, particularly in the paint, and closed the half ahead, 90–65. The game concluded with the Wildcats securing the victory.
Elisha Warren made three three-pointers and recorded two steals, contributing to his total of 12 points. Matsell scored 12 points, adding four free throws and grabbing five rebounds. Reynolds added eight points with two three-pointers and collected five rebounds.
Marko Milivojevic provided defensive support with two blocks and contributed four points.
Looking ahead, D'Youville will face Roberts Wesleyan University on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 7:45 p.m.
