Saints Weekly Preview | Sept. 29

BUFFALO, N.Y. – D'Youville University athletics weekly preview for the week of September 29 – October 5.
 
Women's Volleyball at Daemen (Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.)
After coming off a 1-1 weekend, women's volleyball will travel down the road to face cross-town rival Daemen University. The Saints swept Queens College this past Saturday and was edged out in a five-set thriller Sunday afternoon against Molloy University. Daemen is also coming off a 1-1 weekend where they also got a win against Queens and fell to Molloy. Daemen holds the all-time series record of 8-2, but the Saints have been winners of two of the last three times the teams have met. Last time these teams met, the Saints upset Daemen in the 2024 ECC Women's Volleyball Championship Semifinals.
 
Women's Tennis at Daemen (Friday at 4:00 p.m.)
After coming off their first appearance ever in the ITA Regionals, the women's tennis team will shift their focus back to conference action. It was a successful weekend for D'Youville, as Erika Ismailova made it to the Round of 16 in singles play and the doubles team of Munisa Ashurbekova and Miranda Bosch made it to the round of 16. Looking ahead to Daemen, the Wildcats are 1-1 on the season with their last match coming on Sept. 19. Daemen has an all-time record of 12-0 against the Saints.
 
Field Hockey at Elizabethtown (Friday at 5:00 p.m.)
D'Youville is coming of an 0-2 week, falling to Roberts Wesleyan University and Frostburg State University. In the team's game against FSU, Ella Darvalics recorded her first goal of her collegiate career. Elizabethtown College is also coming off an 0-2 week and will have one game prior to these teams meeting. This will be the first meeting between the two teams.
 
Women's Bowling at Mercyhurst Invitational (Saturday & Sunday at 10:00 a.m.)
Women's bowling will begin their season at the Mercyhurst Invitational down in Erie, Pa. This will be the fourth-straight season the Saints will start a campaign at the Invitational.
 
Women's Volleyball vs. American International (Saturday at 10:30 a.m.)
After a one-game road trip, the Saints will be back at Saints Center where they will face In-Region foe, American International College. The Yellow Jackets hold a 5-3 record on the season and will have been off since Sept. 24th when the teams meet. This will be only the second time these teams will have met with AIC winning the first meeting by a score of 3-0.
 
Women's Soccer vs. Staten Island (Saturday at 12:00 p.m.)
Women's soccer is coming off an 0-1 week, falling to Roberts Wesleyan this past Saturday. The Dolphins are coming off an 0-2 week with their last defeat coming against Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday. The last time these two teams met, DYU came away with a 2-1 victory just a year ago. The Dolphins hold the all-time series record of 2-1-1.
 
Men's Soccer vs. Staten Island (Saturday at 3:00 p.m.)
Men's soccer is coming off an 0-1 week, falling to Roberts Wesleyan this past Saturday. The Dolphins had two ties this past week including a 1-1 tie against Molloy University. This will be the fifth times these teams will meet with CSI holding a 3-1 all-time record. The last time these teams met, DYU came away with a 4-2 win.
 
Field Hockey vs. Millersville (Sunday at 12:00 p.m.)
D'Youville will finish their trip down in Pennsylvania as they face Millersville University. The Marauders are currently 4-3 on the season after going 1-1 this past week. Millersville will play two games before the teams face each other. This will be the first time these two teams will meet.
