NEW ORLEANS, La. – In the week one United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional rankings, the D'Youville University women's cross country team has moved up five spots and are ranked at No. 5.
The Saints moved up five spots from their initial preseason ranking off a strong performance at the Doug Watts Open hosted by Edinboro University at the beginning of the month. DYU placed fifth out of 11 teams and were the top team from the East Coast Conference (ECC).
Lilianna Peters anchored D'Youville, finishing 23rd out of 113 runners with a time of 19:37.1 in the 5k race. Elaina Williams also had a strong outing, placing 35th with a time of 20:03.6.
The Saints will next be in action next Saturday, September 27th, as they head east to compete in the Harry F. Anderson Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University.
