DYU Flag Football Coach Jeff Weiss, Orchard Park Flag Football Set for Bills Halftime Spotlight

BUFFALO, N.Y. – D'Youville University women's flag football head coach will, along with his Orchard Park High School flag football team, will take center stage during the halftime of the Buffalo Bills vs. New York Giants Preseason game this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Highmark Stadium.

Weiss and his team are coming off a Section VI Championship this past spring and seven of his players will be teamed up with the other Section VI champions, Pioneer High School and Clarence High School, and will take on the select individuals from the Section V Champions of Penfield, Webster Schroeder, and Charles G. Finney during halftime of the preseason game for a scrimmage.

"It's a great honor to be asked to be a part of this halftime scrimmage with five other schools in the area who have risen the bar for our sport," said Weiss. "Seeing the continued growth of flag football in WNY is nothing short of amazing. I'm excited for the girls to get the opportunity to play in front of 70,000+ fans and hopefully inspire some of the young girls in the crowd to get involved with the sport."

In his fourth season coaching the Quakers, Weiss led the team to their first Section VI Championship back in May. Orchard Park finished the season with a record of 12-3 with a regular season record of 9-2. Five players from the team were named Section VI All-Stars, including the Co-Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year. Weiss and his staff were also selected as the Section VI Class A Co-Coaching Staff of the Year along with Kenmore High School.

Weiss had four players selected to All-Western New York Teams as well as earning spots on the New York State Sportswriters Association's All-State Team. The Quakers finished the season as the No. 10 team in the state in Class A in the NYS Sportswriters Association rankings.

This is not the first time that Orchard Park will play during a halftime of a Bills game as they were, doing so during the home opener of the 2024 season.

If you plan to be in attendance during the game, be sure to stick around during halftime to cheer of coach Weiss and his team!
