Saints Finish Weekend with 3-0 Loss to Thomas More

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Men's Volleyball team faced off with the Thomas More Saints for the second match in as many days. D'Youville fell 3-0 in the second and final match to the Saints.

 D'Youville University 0 vs Thomas More University 3 – (26-28, 19-25, 23-25)
Set One
Game One was a back-and-forth battle between the opposing Saints as the score remained tight with Thomas More holding a slight lead for much of the game. Thomas More extended to a four-point lead at 19-15 and continued to climb until they reached game point at 24-20. D'Youville fought back scoring the next four in a row to tie the game at 24. A kill from Randy Adorno (Bayamon, Puerto Rico / Winter Park) and service ace from Ty Parker (Syracuse, N.Y. / Jamesville-Dewitt) along with two Thomas More errors tied the game. D'Youville got the 26-25 advantage following a kill from Tymek Brzoza (Tychy Poland), but Thomas More would score the final three points to take set one 28-26.

Set Two
Thomas More took the early lead again in set two, but D'Youville tied the game at 12 following a kill from Ethan Robinson (Toronto, Canada) and a TMU error. Thomas More retook the lead as they climbed to 20-17. DYU got two points back to get within one at 20-19, but TMU put up five in-a-row to take set two 25-19.

Set Three
D'Youville took the initiative in set three jumping out to a strong 8-5 lead following kills from Adorno, Brzoza, Parker, and Jacob Malak (Wales, Wisc. / Kettle Moraine). Thomas More quickly made a comeback to tie the game, but DYU once again took the lead jumping up 22-18. Thomas More made another run, putting together six in-a-row to take the 23-22 lead. Another kill from Jacob Malak retied the game, but Thomas More would record the final two points to win set three 25-23 and the match 3-0.
