BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Men's Volleyball team dropped a tough 3-1 match to Thomas More University on Friday evening.

 D'Youville University 1 vs Thomas More University 3 – (25-27, 26-24, 21-25, 23-25)
Set One
The battle of the Saints started close as D'Youville took an early 8-6 lead following kills from Ian De Wilde (Lockport, N.Y. / Starpoint) and Spencer Boakye (Union, N.J. / Union). D'Youville then extended their lead to 10-7 following a Saint error and a kill from Randy Adorno (Bayamon, Puerto Rico / Winter Park). D'Youville continued to climb extending their lead until they reached game point at 24-22. Thomas More fought to come back scoring three in-a-row to take the 25-24 lead. Spencer Boakye recorded another kill to tie the game at 25, but the Thomas More Saints would score the last two points to win the first set 27-25.

Set Two
The second set started much like the first with D'Youville taking the 6-5 lead following a kill and a service ace from Skyler Tutor (St. Cloud, FL / St. Cloud). Thomas More immediately answered scoring eight in-a-row to take the 13-6 lead. As gameplay continued, D'Youville went on a six-point run to get within one at 15-14, but Thomas More held the lead. D'Youville kept working and managed to tie the game at 20 following a kill from Ethan Robinson (Toronto, Canada). The game retied at 24, but D'Youville earned the 26-24 win following a kill from De Wilde and a bad set from Thomas More.

Set Three
D'Youville carried their momentum into set three jumping ahead 7-5, but Thomas More answered right back with a five-point run to go up 10-7. Thomas More continued to extend their lead until they led 23-20. Tymek Brzoza (Tychy, Poland) recorded the final kill for the Saints before Thomas More took set three 25-21.

Set Four
It was the Thomas More Saints who got up early in the fourth set after getting ahead 16-10. D'Youville slowly worked their way back into the set getting within three at 21-19 following a kill from Adorno and a Thomas More error. Thomas More reach game point at 24-21, but D'Youville continued to fight as Tymek Brzoza recorded another kill and Thomas More recorded an error leaving D'Youville behind by one. Thomas More would lock up the match after recording the final point to take set four 25-23 and the match 3-1.
