COLONIA, N.J. – With crossover season upon us, D'Youville University athletics had three student-athletes recognized by the East Coast Conference for their play this past week.
Alina Bertens-Deckart, Women's Volleyball – ECC Honor Roll
Bertens-Deckart turned in a near-perfect performance of the season, directing the Saints' offense with 31 assists without a setting error while adding production in nearly every statistical category in the sweep to send the Saints to the upcoming ECC Women's Volleyball Championship. Bertens-Deckart kept the attack balanced, enabling four different hitters to finish with six or more kills. She also contributed four service aces, including a three-point run in the third set that broke the match open, and added three kills and two block assists.
Cameron Ulinski, Women's Volleyball – ECC Honor Roll
Ulinski led her team to the final spot for the upcoming ECC Women's Volleyball Championship with a dominant performance; in just three sets, she finished with a team-high 13 kills on .458 hitting in a win over Roberts Wesleyan. Ulinski was the Saints' highest and most effective scorer throughout the night, adding five digs and a block assist while totaling 13.5 points.
Elisha Warren, Men's Basketball – ECC Honor Roll
Warren was the go-to option for the Saints over the weekend, averaging 17.5 points per game, with 29 points against Wilmington. On the week, Warren went 12-for-24 (50 percent) from the field, including 6-for-13 (46.2 percent) from three-point and 5-for-6 (83.3 percent) from the free throw line. Warren also averaged 4.5 rebounds per game.
