BUFFALO – The D'Youville University men's soccer team fell to ECC rival Queens College on Saturday by a score of 2-0.

The Saints totaled eight shots on the day, with two shots on goal, and goalkeeper
Matthew Solorio (Kansas City, Mo.) recorded four saves on six shots faced.

The first scoring opportunity for either side didn't come until the 16
th minute, when sophomore
Finn Savage (Wrexham, Wales) put a shot on goal that nearly trickled in but was narrowly saved by a Queens defender.

In the 27
th minute, freshman
Shawn Richardson (Thailand, Sweden) saw a chance to score for DYU, but his shot was smothered by the Knights' goalkeeper.

Queens broke the ice in the 38
th minute, as the Knights were able to sneak one past Solorio to take a 1-0 advantage.

Freshman
Sigurjon Orri Ivarsson and Richardson both got solid looks at goals right before the half, but neither could convert, and the Saints went to halftime trailing by one.

th minute, freshman
Omar Daoudi (South Burlington, Vt.) ripped a shot that just missed high.

The Knights extended their lead to 2-0 in the 82
nd minute as the Queens offense beat Solorio for the second time.

The Saints final opportunity came in the 85
th minute, when senior
Charlie Stewart (Aberdeen, Sweden) unleashed a shot that missed wide right.

D'Youville will look to bounce back next Wednesday, when they host Lake Erie College at Dobson Field at 4:00 p.m.
