BUFFALO – The D'Youville University men's soccer team fought to a 2-2 draw against Lake Erie College at Dobson Field on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Saints got out to an early 1-0 lead after they drew a penalty in the box and freshman 
Omar Daoudi (South Burlington, Vt.) got the penalty kick past the Lake Erie goalkeeper.
 
DYU added on in the 25
th minute, as senior 
Paulo Carvalho (Brazil) scored his first goal of the season to extend the Saints' lead to 2-0.
 
The Storm drew within one goal of the lead in the 31
st minute, as they beat Saints' goalkeeper 
Matthew Solorio (Kansas City, Mo.) to make it 2-1.
 
Lake Erie continued to attack, and just one minute later, they evened the score at 2-2 as they snuck another goal past Solorio.
 
In the 49
th minute, Carvalho saw another scoring chance and put a shot on goal, but it was steered away by the Storm goalkeeper.
 
Carvalho and sophomore 
Ethan Robinson (Toronto, Ontario) both got looks at shots in the 55
th minute, but neither could find the back of the net.
 
In the 70
th minute, freshman 
Conor Livingstone (Derby, England) saw a scoring chance, but his shot missed wide left.
 
DYU's final chance came in the 82
nd minute, as Carvalho let one rip, but his shot was blocked and the game went on to end in a 2-2 draw.
 
The Saints will be back in action on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. when they travel to St. Thomas Aquinas College to resume their ECC schedule.
