BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Field Hockey Team suffered their second loss of the season 4-1 to #10 in the nation, Mansfield University.

Graduate Student. Kelsey Robertson (Holland, N.Y. / Holland) scored the lone goal for the Saints with Alexis Schleef (Akron, N.Y. / Akron) earning the assist. Hayden Herbold (East Aurora, N.Y. / Iroquois) had another outstanding game in goal, recording 10 saves.

The Saints were faced with a challenge on Wednesday afternoon facing the #10 ranked team in the nation with Mansfield University. The Saints held their own to begin the game holding Mansfield to just five shots in the first quarter. The Saints only managed one shot in the first, but it was all they would need as Kelsey Robertson netted the first goal of the game to put the Saints ahead 1-0.

The Mountaineers answered quickly scoring off a penalty corner less than a minute later to tie the game. The Saints defense held strong in the second quarter sending the game to halftime at a 1-1 tie.

Mansfield managed another goal shortly into the second half to take the 2-1 lead. The Saints saw three penalty corners in the third quarter but were unable to capitalize. The Mountaineers would score two more goals to jump up 4-1 and with the Saints unable to answer, Mansfield would take the win 4-1.
