BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Field Hockey Team was triumphant in their home opener against Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, after defeating the Redhawks 3-0.
Freshmen
Erica Prible (Holland, N.Y. / Holland) and
Meeah Wegryznowski (Eden, N.Y. / Eden) both recorded goals in the second quarter of the game while Graduate Student,
Kelsey Robertson (Holland, N.Y. / Holland) scored a goal of her own in the third quarter to give the Saints the 3-0 lead.

The Saints controlled most of the first quarter action getting six shots off on offense and not allowing a single shot from the Redhawks offense. The Saints offense found their rhythm in the second quarter after
Erica Prible knocked in the first goal for the Saints in the 17th minute of the game.
Meeah Wegryznowski was not far behind scoring her first career goal just over a minute later to put the Saints up 2-0.
The Saints offense came out strong in the second half with
Kelsey Robertson scoring her fourth goal of the season just minutes into the half. The Redhawks applied more pressure on offense in the second half, but
Hayden Herbold (East Aurora, N.Y. / Iroquois) was solid in goal for the Saints recording 11 saves on the night.
