NIAGARA FALLS, NY – The D'Youville University baseball team split their doubleheader against Queens College on Saturday, winning game one 2-0 and dropping game two 10-8.

After walking three to load the bases in the top of the first, Saints' starter
Mihir Manerikar (Mississauga, Ontario) was able to induce a double play to get out of the jam without allowing a run.

In the bottom of the first,
Billy Morris (Lancaster, N.Y.) singled and
Jeremy Glinski (Sloan, N.Y.) walked to give DYU a scoring opportunity, but they were unable to score.

In the bottom of the second,
Chris Neino reached on an error and
Alec Boucher (Essex, Ontario) singled to set up a two-run double by
Craig Oliver (Fredericton, New Brunswick) to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.

In the top of the third, Manerikar found himself in a bases loaded jam once again after a hit batsman and two walks, but once again was able to get out of the inning unscathed. Manerikar exited after five innings of no-hit ball.

Austin Delgado entered in relief in the top of the sixth for the Saints and kept the no-hitter going for one-plus innings. After Delgado walked two to start the top of the seventh,
Alex Dzimian (Lakeview, N.Y.) entered the game and struck out two to keep the no-hitter intact through seven innings.

Queens broke up the no-hitter with a single to start the top of the eighth, but Dzimian induced a double play and a lineout to preserve the shutout.

DYU saw an opportunity to get some insurance in the bottom of the eighth after singles from Morris and Glinski to start the inning, but they were unable to score.

The Knights loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the ninth, but Sam Worthen
(Guelph, Ontario) was able to shut the door for his seventh save of the season as the Saints shutout Queens for the second straight game.

Blaise Kolbert (Lancaster, N.Y.) got the ball in game two for DYU and struck out two in the top of the first.

In the bottom of the third,
Dillon Crook (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Dzimian both singled to put runners at second and third with no outs. A passed ball brought home Crook for the first run of the game and a sacrifice fly from Morris brought in Dzimian to make it 2-0.

In the top of the fourth, Queens chased Kolbert from the game after two walks and a single loaded the bases.
Connor Joedicke (Bloomville, N.Y.) entered in relief and induced a double play to end the inning as DYU held Queens for the 22
nd consecutive inning.

In the top of the fifth, the Knights brought in their first run of the series to cut the Saints' lead to 2-1.

After a Dzimian walk and
Jake Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y.) single to start the bottom of the fifth, Morris hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1 DYU. Hollins then stole second and was brought home on a single by Glinski to make it 4-1. After Glinski stole second and
Jon Simpson (Grand Island, N.Y.) walked, Boucher drove in both with a triple to extend the lead to 6-1.

In the bottom of the sixth, Oliver reached on an error and Dzimian singled to set up an RBI single from Hollins to make it 7-1. Morris followed with his third sac fly of the game to give the Saints an 8-1 lead heading into the final frame.

After Joedicke struck out the Knights' leadoff hitter to start the seventh, things began to unravel for DYU. Queens brought across nine runs on eight hits and four errors to take a 10-8 lead and retired the Saints in the bottom of the seventh to clinch the comeback win.

D'Youville will be back in action against Queens on Sunday, when they look to win the series at 12:00 p.m.
