NIAGARA FALLS, NY – The D'Youville University baseball team closed out their home schedule with a win on Senior Day, beating Lincoln University 12-1.

Senior
Alex Dzimian (Lakeview, N.Y.) got things started for the Saints in the bottom of the first with a base hit and came around to score on an RBI single down the left field line from
Jake Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y.). Dzimian has now collected a hit in thirteen straight games.

In the bottom of the third, Dzimian set the table again with a leadoff double. A single from
Billy Morris (Lancaster, N.Y.) brought Dzimian home to give DYU a 2-1 advantage.
Jeremy Glinski (Sloan, N.Y.) then launched a two-run homer, his tenth of the year, to left center to make it 4-1. Back-to-back singles from
Alec Boucher (Essex, Ontario) and
Jon Simpson (Grand Island, N.Y.) set up a sacrifice fly from
Hunter Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y.) to extend the lead to 5-1.

In the bottom of the fifth, senior
Ethan Hammond (Oakville, Ontario) crushed his first home run of the season over the right center field fence to make it 8-1 Saints. Later in the inning, Dzimian legged out a triple for his third hit of the day and brought in a run to make it 9-1. Hollins followed with a base hit to drive in Dzimian and stretch the lead to 10-1.

Dzimian also got the start on the mound for DYU and threw six stellar innings, allowing just one run on three hits and struck out five Lions.

After Hammond walked to start the bottom of the seventh, senior
Craig Oliver (Fredericton, New Brunswick) ripped a double to bring in the Saints' eleventh run of the game. Two batters later, senior
Caden Strobel (West Pittston, Pa.) drove in Oliver with a base hit to left to make it 12-1.

Kyle Blunt (Watford, Ontario) pitched a one-two-three inning in the top of the eighth and struck out two batters.

In the bottom of the eighth, senior pitcher
Connor Bowman (Orchard Park, N.Y.) got a chance to hit and ripped a single into left field.

Senior Sam Worthen
(Guelph, Ontario) shut the door on Lincoln in the ninth to clinch the Saints' eighth straight win.

With the win, D'Youville improves to 26-17 on the year and 15-5 in conference play. They will close out their regular season schedule next weekend with a four-game set at Mercy University beginning Friday at 12:00 p.m.
