WEST CHESTER, PA – The D'Youville University baseball team was held scoreless in Saturday's doubleheader against West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

West Chester 4, D'Youville 0 (7 innings)

The Saints got their first base runner of the game in the top of the second when
Jon Simpson (Grand Island, N.Y.) drew a walk, but he was subsequently caught stealing to end the inning.

The Rams scratched across a run in the bottom of the second off Saints' starter
Chris Auclair (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) with a walk and two hits to take the lead.

In the top of the third,
Craig Oliver (Fredericton, New Brunswick) drew a two-out walk, but the Saints were unable to bring him in.

Auclair held West Chester scoreless over the next three innings as the score remained 1-0 through five innings. However, the Rams would tack on three runs in the bottom of the sixth to extend their lead to 4-0.

With two outs in the top of the seventh,
Jeremy Glinski (Sloan, N.Y.) ripped a double to break up West Chester's no-hit bid. That would be the Saints' only hit of the game as the Rams retired the next batter to clinch the 4-0 win.

The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first with two hits off DYU's starter
Blaise Kolbert (Lancaster, N.Y.).

Simpson led off the top of the second with a double to try and spark the Saints' offense, but the next three batters were retired in order.

Five hits and two errors resulted in four runs for West Chester in the bottom of the third inning to extend their lead to 5-0.

Hunter Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y.) led off the top of the fifth with a single, but the next three Saints were retired to end the inning.

The Rams would plate two more runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth to make it 8-0.

In the top of the sixth, DYU saw a scoring opportunity after
Alex Dzimian (Lakeview, N.Y.) singled and Glinski walked, but the Saints were unable to bring them in.

In the top of the seventh,
Nick DiCarlo (Lewiston, N.Y.) singled with one out to give DYU a baserunner, but they were unable to bring him in and the Rams secured the 8-0 victory.

D'Youville will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Erie, Pennsylvania to take on Gannon University at 3:00 p.m.
