ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY – The D'Youville University baseball team split a doubleheader against Molloy on Sunday, winning two out of four against the 16
th ranked Lions this weekend.

The Saints drew first blood in the top of the second when
Jeremy Glinski (Sloan, N.Y.) clubbed a home run for the second game in a row to give DYU a 1-0 lead.

After Saints' starting pitcher
Billy Morris (Lancaster, N.Y.) held Molloy scoreless through the first two frames, the Lions got to him for a run in the third and a run in the fourth to go ahead 2-1.

In the top of the fifth,
Hunter Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y.) singled to left and
Alex Dzimian (Lakeview, N.Y.) laid down a bunt single to put runners on the corners with one away.
Jake Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y.) brought in both runners with a two-out double to put DYU back in front 3-2.

Morris exited after the seventh inning, allowing only two runs on nine hits, and struck out five Lions.

In the top of the eighth, after Hollins was hit by a pitch and Morris walked, the Saints tacked on two more runs when a fielding error by the Molloy shortstop allowed them to score and extend the lead to 5-2.

Sam Worthen
(Guelph, Ontario) took over on the mound in the bottom of the eighth. The Lions scored one to cut it to 5-3 and had runners on first and second, but Worthen was able to get out of the jam with a strikeout.

With the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth, Worthen induced a groundball to shut the door on Molloy for his fifth save of the season.

The Saints got on the board in the top of the first when Glinski continued his offensive hot streak with an RBI single to put them up 1-0.

Over the next two innings, Molloy would score ten unanswered runs to take a 10-1 lead.

In the top of the fourth,
Jon Simpson (Grand Island, N.Y.) got on base to start the inning after being plunked and
Ethan Hammond (Oakville, Ontario) followed with a single to right. Simpson came around to score after a throwing error by the Lions' shortstop to make it 10-2.

In the top of the sixth, DYU had an opportunity to chip away at Molloy's lead after three consecutive walks drawn by
Dillon Crook (Liverpool, N.Y.),
Blaise Kolbert (Lancaster, N.Y.), and
Caden Strobel (Pittstown, Pa.), but were unable to score.

In the top of the seventh,
Jon Simpson blasted his ninth home run of the season to put two on the board for the Saints and make it 13-4.

D'Youville will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Jefferson University.
