WILMINGTON, DE – The D'Youville University baseball team split a doubleheader with Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday with a 7-5 comeback win in game one and an 8-1 loss in game two.

Goldey-Beacom took an early lead after scoring a run off RHP
Bryce Hediger (Chaffee, N.Y.) in the bottom of the first.

The Saints tied it up at 1-1 in the top of the third after singles from C
Chris Neino and 2B
Craig Oliver (Fredericton, New Brunswick) and a walk from DH
Alex Dzimian (Lakeview, N.Y.) set up a sacrifice fly from LF
Ethan Hammond (Oakville Ontario).

Goldey-Beacom took the lead back in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run homer to make it 3-1.

In the top of the sixth, DYU cut into the Lightning's lead after SS
Billy Morris (Lancaster, N.Y.) scored on a passed ball to make it 3-2.

Goldey-Beacom tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to stretch their lead to 5-2.

In the top of the eighth, after RF
Jeremy Glinski (Sloan, N.Y.) was hit by a pitch, 1B
Jon Simpson (Grand Island, N.Y.) launched a two-run bomb over the center field fence to cut Goldey-Beacom's lead to 5-4.

Oliver led off the top of the ninth with a single to left field to put the tying run on base. Dzimian advanced pinch runner
Caden Strobel (Pittstown, Pa.) with a sacrifice bunt and Strobel later went to third on a wild pitch. With the Saints down to their final out, Morris came through with a single to right center to tie the game at 5-5. Glinski then stepped in and clubbed a go-ahead two-run shot to make it 7-5 DYU.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Lightning got two runners on, but RHP
Samuel Worthen (Guelph, Ontario) was able to strand them and notch the save. RHP
Blaise Kolbert (Lancaster, N.Y.) got the win for the Saints after throwing 1.2 scoreless innings in relief of Hediger.

The Lightning struck first in game two, taking a 2-0 lead with a two-run homer off Saints' starter
Mihir Manerikar (Mississauga, Ontario).

Oliver led off the top of the third with a single and Dzimian advanced him to third with a single of his own. Hammond brought Oliver home after reaching on a fielder's choice to cut it to 2-1.

Goldey-Beacom responded with another two-run homer to extend their lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third.

Hunter Nowak (Hamburg, N.Y.) led off the top of the fifth with a bunt single, but the Saints were unable to bring him in.

The Lightning added on to their lead with an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the fifth and a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth to make it 8-1.

DYU got two men on base in the top of the seventh after RF
Jake Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y.) singled and Nowak walked, but the next two batters were unable to bring them home, and Goldey-Beacom secured the victory.
