Evan Nets Three Goals as Saints Fall to Lake Erie

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – Closing out their three-game road trip, the D'Youville University men's lacrosse team fell to Lake Erie College Wednesday afternoon by a score of 22-7.
 
The Saints (1-3) were led offensively by Stefano Evan (Vestal, N.Y.) who had three goals with Brady Ruffalo (Webster, N.Y.) adding a pair of goals. Carsyn Kent (Whitby, Ontario) and Luciano Gonzalez (Coquitlam, British Columbia) each found the back of the net once.
 
Jordan Brown (Baltimore, Md.) led the defense, grabbing 10 groundballs with Cameron Fogarty (Selinsgrove, Pa.) and Brody Strong (Gores Landing, Ontario) also grabbed six groundballs each.
 
After The Storm got up 1-0 in the early goings, Evan found the equalizer just moments later to tie the game up at 1-1. Lake Erie regained the momentum, going on an 11-0 run. Gonzalez got one goal back at the 1:48 mark of the second quarter. Evan kept the scoring up, making it a 12-3 game going into the break.
 
The Storm got two back in the early goings of the second half before Kent got his goal on the man-down opportunity. After three goals from Lake Erie, Ruffalo scored back-to-back-time goals in the early goings of the fourth quarter to make it 17-6. Evan added the team's last goal at the 6:16 mark of the fourth.
 
Reece Eck (Forest Lake, Minn.) earned the loss in net, making one save in 15 minutes of action. William Nichols (Palmyra, N.Y.) saw a bulk of the game in net, making 12 saves. Ryan McInnes (Port Monmouth, N.J.) went the rest of the way, making two saves.
 
The Saints will be back in action this Saturday, March 2nd, as they host the University of Bridgeport at 11 a.m.
