The Saints are coming off two NEC matches on the road against Merrimack College and Sacred Heart University last weekend. The Saints fell 3-0 to Merrimack last Friday night, but
Ian De Wilde (Lockport, N.Y. / Starpoint) led the Saints offense with 11 kills while
Randy Adorno (Bayamon, Puerto Rico / Winter Park) recorded 32 kills in the match. The Saints recorded 36 kills in the match compared to Merrimack's 35.
The Saints came back Saturday against Sacred Heart losing a tough match 3-1. Again, the Saints recorded 55 kills compared to the Pioneers 52 and Adorno had an outstanding day recording 44 assists.
Jacob Malak (Wales, Wisc. / Kettle Moraine) recorded 14 kills in the match which was his best showing of the season so far.
After the weekend play,
Randy Adorno was named NEC Prime Performer and the Saints are still receiving votes in the Off the Block Division II National Coaches Poll.
What to Know About the Long Island University Sharks
The Sharks are 3-10 overall and 0-2 in NEC play for the 2024 season under head coach, Kai Dugquem in his second season. The Saints are currently 0-4 all-time against LIU and lost both matches in four sets last season. The Sharks are led by Kale Spencer who has recorded 103 kills and 48 digs this season while teammate Joseph Nunez has recorded 70 digs of his own. Jack Sarnowski has earned 227 assists while Arthur Sueur has secured 39.0 blocks for the Sharks this season.
What to Know About the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights
The Knights are 6-4 this year under head coach, Karl France in his fourth season. The Saints are 2-3 all-time against the Knights after defeating them 3-2 at home and losing 3-0 on the road last season. The Knights are led by Jamal Ellis Carballo who has 125 kills in the season so far and Jose Angarita has 273 assists. Ethan Young has earned 51 digs while Santiago La Jara has earned 19.0 blocks.
