BUFFALO, N.Y. – In the first ever dual held at the Saints Center, the D'Youville University women's wrestling team fell to No. T19 Gannon University by a score of 38-5 Friday evening.
The Saints (0-4) lone victory came from
Alessandra Elliott (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) via tech. fall, defeating Ariana Gonzalez by a score of 10-0 in the first period of action of the 145-pound weight class.
Madison Wellen (West Berlin, Pa./Wyoming Seminary) earned a team point in the 138-pound weight class, falling by a decision to Lili Ujfalvi.
Saniyah Ward (The Colony, Texas/The Colony) also earned a team point in the 160-pound weight class.
D'Youville wil next be in action on November 24th, as they travel to compete in the John Carroll University Tri-Meet. Action begins at 11 a.m.
