Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Two Goals from Robinson Lead Saints to Dominant Win Over Roberts Wesleyan

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The D'Youville University men's soccer team put together an offensive barrage on Wednesday night to beat Roberts Wesleyan University 4-1.

This is the second game in a row that the Saints have scored four goals. Sophomore Ethan Robinson (Toronto, Ontario) scored two goals to lead the charge for DYU, the first multi-goal game of his career. Freshmen Shawn Richardson (Thailand, Sweden) and Omar Daoudi (South Burlington, Vt.) also each tallied a goal. Freshman goalkeeper Matthew Solorio (Kansas City, Mo.) recorded two saves on three shots faced.

Richardson and Robinson both saw scoring opportunities in the early goings, but neither could find the back of the net.

Following a weather delay that suspended play for nearly an hour, Richardson scored in the 13th minute off an assist from Daoudi to give DYU a 1-0 lead.

In the 24th minute, the Saints saw a couple chances to extend their lead, as Daoudi and freshman Frederick Balmforth (Oslo, Norway) both fired shots on goal, but they were saved by the Redhawks goalkeeper.

In the 34th minute, Roberts Wesleyan leveled the score at 1-1. However, minutes later, Robinson found Daoudi in front of the net to put in the goal and give the Saints the lead back right before halftime.

Robinson extended D'Youville's lead to 3-1 in the 64th minute, as he cashed in on the feed from senior Charlie Stewart (Aberdeen, Scotland).

Robinson put the icing on the cake in the 81st minute, scoring his second goal of the night to make it 4-1 Saints.

With the win, D'Youville improves to 4-7-3 and 2-2-2 in the ECC and will host the University of the District of Columbia for their final home game of the regular season on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
