SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The D'Youville University Field Hockey Team lost 6-2 to Slippery Rock University on the road on Wednesday afternoon.

Slippery Rock got a penalty corner quickly at the start of the game and capitalized scoring the first goal in the third minute. The Saints had their chance at a penalty corner but were unable to find the back of the goal. Slippery Rock tacked on two more quick goals at the start of the second quarter.

Erica Prible (Holland, N.Y. / Holland) recorded the first goal for the Saints just 51 seconds into the second half. Kelsey Robertson (Holland, N.Y. / Holland) earned the assist. Slippery Rock quickly answered with another goal to lead 4-1 and then notched another by the end of third to lead 5-1. Prible took another shot at goal in the fourth, but it was Madisyn Grawl (Burlington, N.J. / Burlington) that punched it in bringing the score to 5-2. Slippery Rock knocked in one more goal before time ran out to take the game 6-2.

Hayden Herbold (East Aurora, N.Y. / Iroquois) recorded 9 saves in the game.
