ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The D'Youville University Field Hockey Team closed out their inaugural season with a 1-0 win in double overtime against the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks on the road.

Gameplay was tight between the Saints and Redhawks for the majority of play. D'Youville saw three penalty corner opportunities in the first quarter with Kelsey Roberston (Holland, N.Y. / Holland) getting a shot off, but the score remained at zero. Robertson got off another shot in the second along with two shots from Alexis Schleef (Akron, N.Y. / Akron), but they were unbale to score headed into halftime.

The Saints managed nine more shots before the end of regulation but remained scoreless. D'Youville played shutdown defense not allowing a single shot on goal for the entirety of regulation.

As the game headed into overtime, Kailee Godesiabois (Clarence, N.Y. / Clarance) and Alexis Schleef both managed shots, but the game headed into a second overtime. Kelsey Robertson was the overtime hero for the second time this season netting the sudden victory goal for the Saints in double overtime to give them the 1-0 win in their final game of the 2024 season.
