FROSTBURG, Md. – The D'Youville University Field Hockey Team dropped a matchup to Frostburg State 6-1 on Sunday afternoon.

The Saints took control on offense early in the game with both
Kelsey Robertson (Holland, N.Y. / Holland) and
Alexis Schleef (Akron, N.Y. / Akron) recording shots on goal, but Frostburg's goalie held strong keeping the score at 0. Frostburg took control on offense scoring the first goal of the game in the sixth minute and managed to sneak another in before the end of the first quarter to lead 2-0.
FSU controlled the ball in the second quarter, but the Saints defense performed well.
Chloe Burkhard (Vestal, N.Y. / Vestal) recorded a defensive save, but Frostburg managed one more goal to lead 3-0 before halftime.
Frostburg managed two more goals in the third quarter as the Saints fought to stay in the game.
Meeah Wegryznowski (Eden, N.Y. / Eden) came up big for the Saints in the fourth quarter scoring D'Youville's lone goal of the game with
Kelsey Robertson earning the assist. Frostburg added one more goal before time ran out giving Frostburg State the 6-1 win.
