Saints Suffer Loss to IUP

INDIANA, Pa. – The D'Youville University Field Hockey Team fell 7-0 to Indiana University of Pennsylvania on the road Sunday afternoon.

Gameplay started even between the Saints and the Crimson Hawks on Sunday with both teams getting chances on offense. IUP got on the board first scoring in the seventh minute to go up 1-0. The Crimson Hawks scored another before the half to put the score at 2-0 going into halftime.

IUP managed five more goals to take the 7-0 lead in the third quarter. Madisyn Grawl (Burlington, NJ / Burlington) saw an opportunity on a breakaway, but the Crimson Hawks fouled leading to a penalty corner instead. Alexis Schleef (Akron, N.Y. / Akron) got a shot off, but it went wide, and the Saints remained scoreless. Schleef saw two more chances in the fourth quarter, but the Crimson Hawks goalkeeper recorded saves on both and IUP would go on to take the game 7-0.

Hayden Herbold (East Aurora, N.Y. / Iroquois) recorded nine saves for the Saints in goal.
