BUFFALO - The D'Youville University men's soccer team hosted St. Thomas Aquinas University at Dobson Field on Saturday, falling to the Spartans by a score of 5-0.
The Saints put up a solid defensive effort in the first half, as the match was at a deadlock until the 37th minute, when the Spartans put the first goal on the board. Sophomore
Aaron Baffour (Anchorage, Alaska) put a shot on goal in the 27th minute, but it was steered away, and the Saints went into halftime trailing 2-0. DYU saw a few scoring opportunities in the second half, as Baffour put another shot on goal and freshman
Ben Calkins (East Grinstead, England) got off two shots, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Freshman
Jake Marks (London, England) played the full 90 minutes in net, recording eight saves.
The Saints will be back in action on Tuesday, October 10th, when they hit the road to face Franklin Pierce University at 12:00 p.m.
