On The Rise
The Saints will be led once again by second-year head coach Jaime Snyder. DYU captured four wins with Snyder at the helm last season, all coming within the first two weeks of the season.
Returners for the Saints
D'Youville will return 12 players from a season ago and will look to continue to build the team chemistry.
Returning is sophomore outside hitter
Isabelle Prentice who led the team in kills with 175 and junior outside hitter
Eve Musielak who finished with 127 kills a season ago.
Emma Wlostowski will facilitate the offense once again going into her senior season, collecting 658 assists last season.
On the defensive side, sophomore libero
Madison Bradshaw led the team in digs last season, finishing with 226 with Wlostowski adding 216. At the net,
Brianna Damstetter will look to have a strong senior season after collecting 59 total blocks last season.
New Faces
The Saints brought in five new players for the team including
Lauren Scully,
Melissa Bracero,
Madeline O'Brien,
Giselle Ramirez, and
Mitha Hatwar.
About Central State
- The Marauders will face D'Youville for their second match of the season.
- Central State is picked fourth in the west division of the SIAC Preseason Coaches Poll after going 4-27 overall and 4-15 in the SIAC last season.
- Returning for the Marauders is Zahra Coates who finished third on the team in kills (177).
- This will be the team's first meeting.
About Parkside
- Parkside's matchup against D'Youville will be the team's third match of the weekend.
- The Rangers are picked 10th in the GLIAC Preseason Coaches Poll after going 9-20 overall and 3-15 in the GLIAC last season.
- Parkside returns their second offensive threat from a season a go in Ava Irvin, who finished with 226 kills and Karlee Lois who finished second on the team in assists with 341.
- On the defensive end, top blocker Lindsay Krznairch returns after posting 89 total blocks last season.
- This will be the team's first meeting.
About New Haven
- Heading into day two of the tournament, the Saints will face the Chargers for both teams' third match of the season.
- New Haven was selected as the fifth team in the NE10 after posting a 16-12 overall record and a 7-5 record in the NE10 last season.
- The Chargers return their top offensive player in Macy Brown who posted 369 kills in 2022. Also returning is top ball distributor in Sophia Leon-Taylor who had 863 assists a year ago.
- Brown was also the leader in digs for the team, collecting 407. Top shot blocker Kylie Reynolds-Martin also returns, denying 70 attacks last season.
- This will be the team's second time meeting with the first coming in 2021 where the Chargers took a 3-0 win.
About Ashland
- Wrapping up the weekend, the Saints will play host school Ashland.
- The Eagles are picked atop of the Great Midwest south division in the Preseason Polls after posting a 23-9 overall record and 16-1 record in the GMAC.
- Makenna Belcher will return for the Eagles, finishing second on the team in kills with 337.
- On the defensive side, Katie Thompson returns after collecting 585 digs.
- This will be the team's first meeting.
