Box Score DUBOIS, Pa. — The 8-seeded D'Youville University baseball team got out to a 2-0 lead after one inning of play, but 9-seeded Penn St. DuBois scored in each of the next six innings to prevail 10-5 in the opening round of the United Small Colleges Athletic Association Championships on Monday evening.
FINAL: PSU-DuBois 10, DYU 5
- Billy Morris' two-out, 2-RBI home run to right center put DYU on top 2-0 after the first.
- Four straight DuBois hits and a walk to start the second helped PSU hang a 4-spot to go ahead 4-2.
- A two-out wild pitch on a strikeout allowed DuBois to add another run in the third, 5-2.
- PSU added one run each in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to stretch the advantage to 8-2.
- A leadoff walk came around to score on a double for DuBois in the seventh before a sacrifice fly plated one more to extend the margin to eight, 10-2.
- Jeremy Glinski reached on a hit by pitch with one out in the bottom of the frame before Ethan Hammond got aboard via a catcher's interference with two outs.
- Morris stepped in next and hit his second long ball of the day, this time a 3-run shot, to make it a 10-5 ballgame.
- DuBois retired the next D'Youville batter to finish out the 10-5 win.
