WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — The D'Youville University women's tennis team played its final match of the season against Daemen University. Both teams are members of the East Coast Conference, but the match was a non-conference brawl.
The final was a 5-0 decision with Daemen taking the match which was played at the Miller Tennis Center. The Saints closed out their season at 1-10 and the match marked the ninth all-time meeting between Daemen and D'Youville.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams played two doubles matches and four singles matches. D'Youville lost both doubles matches, taking the point as per NCAA Division II scoring. Playing at first doubles were Yuliia Kashtelian and Khushi Agarwal. The two unfortunately went down in a 6-3 loss. At second, Paola Ermina and Senior Taylor-Anne Austin went down 6-1.
Daemen completed their win by taking all four singles matches. Kashtelian at number one singles was close to taking the first game but could not execute. (6-4, 6-1)
