Box Score LORETTO, PA- The D'Youville University men's volleyball team went up against the Red Flash of Saint Francis University dropping the match, 3-0 (20-25, 14-25, 12-25) from DeGol Arena.
FIRST SET
- It was an uphill battle at the start with neither side showing any sign of giving in with five lead changes that took place.
- SFU's defense in this one looked to be stout as they recorded 17 digs compared to the Saints 12.
- Once the Red Flash found their momentum later in the set managed to stretch the lead out to as much as six points before wrapping things up in their favor, 25-20.
SECOND SET
- In the early going the Saints had the three-point advantage on SFU, 6-3.
- After that things were evened up at 6-6 when things began to drift away for DYU as they allowed the Red Flash to go on an 8-0 run that helped solidify their position within the set jumping out to a 10-point lead, 17-7.
- DYU had no answer for the onslaught being put together by SFU as they couldn't produce positive hitting percentage numbers that ended with them on top, 25-14.
THIRD SET
- Everything was going according to plan for the Red Flash as they had an early grasp on the set reaching out to a lead of five points, 10-5.
- Scoring efforts for DYU were drastically slowed down due to the pace presented by SFU as they chased down another 8-0 run that ultimately granted them another conference win in the match, 25-12.
