Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — The D'Youville University baseball team used an outstanding starting pitching performance from Chris Auclair and three insurance runs in the eighth to hold off the Lincoln University Lions 5-3 in game one.

In a back-and-forth game two, a Lions' solo home run in the sixth was the difference, 4-3.

Game One: DYU 5, LU 3

  • Both teams were unable to muster much in the first half of the game, stranding a combined six runners on base through five innings of play.
  • After a leadoff hit by pitch and a two-out walk in the sixth, Jon Simpson ripped a two-out double down the left field line to plate Billy Morris and give DYU the 1-0 lead.

  • The Lions got one back in the bottom of the frame with a one-out solo shot to left.
  • DYU responded with a leadoff walk and Alec Boucher single to begin the eighth.
  • A Lion's error and a wild pitch allowed two Saints to cross home before a Hunter Nowak sacrifice fly made it a 5-1 DYU lead.
