BUFFALO, N.Y. — The D'Youville University men's basketball team faced conference competition Staten Island during the afternoon of Sunday, Feb. 5. After 40 minutes, the Saints played hard but couldn't execute, taking the loss 79-75. Wilie Kondrat was able to pace DYU, making 13 total rebounds and putting away 33 of the Saints 75 total points.

FIRST HALF

• Kondrat put the Saints on the board with a pair of shots from the charity stripe at 16:43. (4-2) Kondrat then tied up the score at 4-4 with a layup at 14:53.

• Mason Putnam raises the score above CSI with a three-pointer at 11:48, 8-7. Kondrat marks the halfway point with a layup at 9:55. (13-12)

• Latrell Butler makes a layup at 1:40, but D'Youville heads into the half down 37-32.

SECOND HALF

• The Dolphins open the scoring of the half with a three-pointer only 12 seconds in. The Saints struck back with a layup at 19:00.

• Kondrat scores six consecutive points with two sets of free-throws and a layup from 10:34 to 9:45

• The Saints were able to get within three points when Luke Theisen put away two free-throws at 52 seconds, 73-70. Renard Fontes Jules and Nelson St. Louis added five points but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Final score being 79-75.

The D'Youville men's basketball team will be back in the College Center Gym on Saturday, Feb. 11 as they host Roberts Wesleyan. Tip-off is slated for 1 P.M.
