Box Score BUFFALO, NY. - The D'Youville University men's volleyball team lost a close second set and an even closer third set, falling in straight sets to the St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers 17-25, 23-25, 27-29 on Saturday afternoon.
First Set
- SFB held a 15-11 the media timeout
- An SFB error pulled DYU within one at 15-13
- The Terriers recovered with five straight points on their way to a 25-17 win
Second Set
- Jacob Malak's kill put DYU ahead 11-7 early
- SFB took its first lead of the set at 17-16
- DYU retied the set at 23-23 but SFB won the next two points to prevail
Third Set
- DYU held a slim 15-14 advantage at the media break
- The teams traded points back and forth before SFB survived a set point at 24-23
- DYU had another opportunity to win the set at 25-24 but the Terriers came up with a timely kill before eventually winning the marathon set 29-27
