NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. - The D'Youville University men's volleyball team trailed 1-0 and 2-1 to Merrimack College but battled back to force a fifth set, unfortunately falling 15-12 to lose the match, 15-25, 26-24, 16-25, 25-16, 12-15, on Saturday evening

First Set

• MC doubled up DYU 12-6 early
• A pair of MC attack errors pulled DYU with three, 13-10
• That's as close at DYU would get as MC opened up a 20-12 lead on its' way to a 25-15 win

Second Set

• Ian De Wilde kill knots set at 11-11
• DYU had set point at 24-22 but MC survives twice
• Kacper Taudul kill followed by MC error clinches set for DYU, 26-24

Third Set

• MC races out to 14-8 advantage
• 4-of-5 DYU points trims margin to three, 15-12
• MC responds with six straight points on way to taking third set, 25-16

Fourth Set

• Randy Adorno finds Haven Wankerl for 11-7 DYU lead
• Consecutive MC errors extend margin to seven at 16-9
• MC cuts deficit to three, 17-14, but DYU closes with 8-2 run to take set 25-16

Fifth Set

• MC jumps out to 7-2 advantage
• Taudul kill brings DYU within one, 7-6, before he ties set at 11-11 with another finish
• MC takes next two and last 4-of-5 to win deciding fifth set, 15-12
