BUFFALO, N.Y. - The D'Youville University Women's Volleyball Team (7-16, 3-7 ECC) was defeated by Molloy university on Saturday afternoon 3-0.

D'Youville University 0 vs Molloy University (22-25, 20-25, 15-25)
First Set
The Saints and Lions started match play even, but the Lions took the lead after a four-point run from the Lions making the score 6-3. D'Youville worked to keep the score close, but the Lions held the lead. With the score at 19-15 in the Lions favor, the Saints started to close the score gap. A kill from Giselle Ramirez (Miami, Fla./School for Advanced Studies) followed by a kill from Mitha Hatwar (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) brought the Saints within two. The Saints earned another point on a Lions error and Kendal Haberer (Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore) delivered a service ace to tie the game at 19. Another Lions error gave the Saints the 20-19 lead.

Match play was again brought even at 20, but another kill from Giselle Ramirez put the Saints on top. The Lions fought back to score three and a final kill from Madeline O'Brien (East Amherst, N.Y.) would not be enough to hold Molloy back and they would go on to win set one 25-22.

Second Set
The Lions picked up where they left off jumping out to a quick 7-2 lead. A kill from Isabelle Prentice (Bainbridge, Wash./Bainbridge) followed by a service ace from Mitha Hatwar brought the score to 7-4, but the Lions got back up to a five-point lead at 9-4. The Lions would hold the lead for the remainder of the game winning the second set 25-20.

Third Set
Again, the Lions jumped out to an early 9-2 lead, but the Saints fought back closing the gap after a kill from Eve Musielak (Eden, N.Y./Eden) and a Lions' error brought the score to 12-8. The Lions would then go on a seven-point run to expand their lead to 19-8. Despite the Saints best efforts, the Lions would go on to win set three 25-15 and the match 3-0.
