About the Saints
DYU will embark upon a new journey as they compete in their inaugural women's wrestling season. The Saints squad is made up of six freshmen and two sophomores. The freshmen consist of
Alessandra Elliott (Staten Island, N.Y.),
Emily Sindoni (Nicholas, N.Y.),
Juliana Smith (Mexico, N.Y.),
Elizabeth Stricklin (San Antonia, Texas),
Saniyah Ward (Lewisville, Ark.), and
Madison Wellen (East Berlin, Pa.). The two sophomores on the team are
Adriana Lagoe (Syracuse, N.Y.) and
Riley Wentlent (Cheektowaga, N.Y.).
About the Spartans
- Aurora comes into the season after a 3-3 dual record a year ago.
- The Spartans placed fourth in regionals and 16th at nationals.
- Aurora returns two wrestlers in Natalie Gonzalez and Brianna Kristin.
About the Dragons
- Tiffin comes into the season after a 10-8 dual record a year ago.
- The Dragons placed fourth at regionals.
- Tiffin returns 16 wrestlers from a year ago including national champion runner up Jenavi Alejandro in the 101 pound weight class.
About the Panthers
- Davenport returns five wrestlers from a year ago.
About the Bulldogs
- Adrian comes into the season after a 6-5 record a year ago.
- The Bulldogs placed second at regionals and 13th at nationals.
- Adrian returns 18 wrestlers from last season including a pair of All-Americans.
