SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Competing in their final competition of the fall season, the D'Youville University women's rowing team headed east as they took part in the Head of the Schuylkill.
The Saints competed in the Women's Championship Quads, finishing fourth out of five boats. The team of Kyleigh Oneil (Buffalo, N.Y.),
Julia Cecil (Westminster, Md.),
Riley Nyhlen (Getzville, N.Y.), and
Madelynn Racaniello (Fairport, N.Y.) posted a time of 15:42.756 in the 2.5 mile course.
"Our team wasn't happy with the result from the race," said head women's rowing coach Woody Stark. "We might not have been happy with the result, but I believe this is a good thing. I love the team's competitive drive and desire to go faster. This winter will be beneficial to our fitness, and we're excited about the upcoming spring season and to get back to sweep rowing."
The Saints will be back in training mode until they get back out in the water in the spring of 2024.
