BUFFALO, N.Y.-  The D'Youville University men's basketball team went up against the Tigers of Salem University in a hard fought game ending with the Saints falling, 68-64.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Renard Fontes Jules was active on both sides of the ball recording 14 points, four assists, and three steals. Luke Theisen and Mason Putnam both finished in double-digits with 12 and 10 points respectively.

FIRST HALF

• At 14:34 the Saints tied the game off a made three-pointer from Fontes Jules, 10-10.
• Defensively the Saints' efforts kept the Tigers to only six points in the last five minutes of the half.
• The Saints were down by as much as 12 points but narrowed the gap by one point, 35-34.

SECOND HALF

• Saints take their first lead of the game from a layup by Willie Kondrat, 36-35.
• DYU led for over six minutes of the half until at 12:54 the Tigers made a free throw to put themselves up by one point, 44-43.
• With 15 seconds left Nelson St. Louis brought the deficit to just three points off his made three-pointer, 67-64.
• To cap things off the Saints had to foul the Tigers which resulted in them making one of two free throws, 68-64.

The Saints will be on the road for their next game in conference play against the Knights of Queens College Friday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m. from Fitzgerald Gymnasium.
