Box Score DUBOIS, PA. - The D'Youville baseball team scrathced the first run across in their USCAA Small College World Series opening game but were unable to hold off Penn State-Mont Alto Monday afternoon at Showers Field. The opening setback moves the No. 6 Saints (14-21 overall) into the losers bracket of the tournament where they'll take on No. 7 Bucks County Community College tomorrow morning.
GAME NOTES
Senior George Farid ended a scoreless deadlock in the top of the third inning as he drove in sophomore Alex Dzimian from second base.
The Nittany Lions responded with the game-tying run in the bottom of the fourth inning and then plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
In the top of the seventh inning of the seven-inning game, the Saints got the tying run on base with junior Craig Oliver on third base and Dzimian on first but Farid grounded into a fielder's choice to end the game.
ON THE MOUND
Freshman Chris Auclair started on the bump for the Saints and went 4.2 innings and struck out four ... None of the three runs charged to Auclair during his start were earned runs ... Freshman Samuel Worthen pitched the final 1.1 innings in relief of Auclair.

The Saints enter the losers bracket of the double-elimination tournament and will begin to navigate their way through tomorrow morning when take on Bucks County C.C. at 11 a.m. from Showers Field.
