BUFFALO N.Y- The D'Youville University men's soccer team gets ready as they prepare for their final match of the season on senior day against the Tigers of Salem University Saturday, Nov.5 at 11 a.m. from Dobson Field. Senior Day will be taking place honoring seniors Avery Grondin, Juan Centeno, Sean O'Connor, and Dylan DeGlopper.
SCOUTING SALEM
The Tigers are 7-4-5 this season with no wins accounted for in the Conference Carolinas. Forward Diego Losada leads the Tigers in points, goals, and assists recording 10 points, four goals, and two assists. Goalkeeper Ruben Pijlman has been the leader at the pitch for Salem gathering a total of 29 saves with a .707 save percentage.
OPENING XIII
I. Saints completed their final conference matchup of the season against the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas in a 3-1 loss.
II. Ethan Picard in the Saints last outing against St. Thomas Aquinas finished his afternoon at the pitch with 12 saves. Picard has a total of 107 on the season puts him first in the ECC and second among the USCAA. This week Picard has been awarded USCAA Division I Goalie Of The Week making it his third time this season receiving the award.
III.Felipe Santos contributed to the outing with St. Thomas Aquinas by scoring a late second-half goal. Santos is the leader for the Saints in points, goals, and shots compiling 11 points, five goals, and 37 shots. Along with sitting sixth among the ECC in shots taken.
IV. Arthur Da Silva made his impact on the match against St. Thomas Aquinas by setting up fellow teammate Santos with an assist. Da Silva's total on the season in assists sits at four which leads the team. He is positioned in second for the team in points having six.
V. The three Saints keepers compiled a .611 save percentage over 14 games.
VI. The Saints sit just ahead of Staten Island for shot percentage as a team with a number of .085.
VII. The Tigers are coming off a 0-0 tie against the Bears of Shaw University. Goalkeeper Ryan Schneider finished his afternoon with three saves.
VIII. The Tigers took a total of six shots with two finding their mark on goal.
