D'Youville (0-1) vs Hilbert (0-1)

The D'Youville men's soccer team will look to squeeze at least one more game into its shortened 2021 spring season as the Saints will host former AMCC rival Hilbert on Thursday.
Last Time Out – D'Youville kicked off the season with its first match as a provisional Division II program on Sunday, April 18, falling by a 9-1 score at Roberts Wesleyan ... Roberts Wesleyan wasted no time building their advantage with an unassisted goal in the fourth minute from Justin Robertson. Nearly five-and-a-half minutes later, Robertson beat senior goalkeeper Kyle Dick once more. The Saints went on to hold a high-flying Redhawk attack at bay for the remainder of the first half ... In the 59th minute, sophomore midfielder Chris Irakoze drew one goal back for the Saints with his fifth career goal in a D'Youville uniform. Less than two minutes later, Robertson grabbed his hat-trick in the 61st minute to re-establish a two-goal advantage. The Redhawks wouldn't look back as they cashed in six more times, including four goals from Dylan Ruiz and a brace from Ryan Curtis, over the final 25 minutes.
Tale of the Tape – The Saints and Hawks have a long history as former conference foes. D'Youville holds the edge as of late, winning six out of the last 10 matchups, including the last four, between the Buffalo-area schools. In the final match as AMCC rivals in 2019, D'Youville posted their biggest win of the season in an 8-1 route over the Hawks. Five current Saints, including sophomore midfielder Noah Steele (23', 62'), Irakoze (25', 58'), senior midfielder Nick Dumond (29'), senior midfielder Mwibeleca Tumba (48'), and sophomore midfielder Sean O'Connor (82') all scored for D'Youville in its seventh win of the season.
D'Youville by the Numbers – Irakoze and Dumond each recorded two shots in the loss to Roberts, while freshman Alec Muniz and senior Jake Kowalewski both tallied a shot as well ... Dick made eight saves in the defeat, while backup William Anderson registered six saves for the Saints.
Hilbert at a Glance – The Hawks will also be looking for win No. 1 this week. In their only game action on April 9, Hilbert fell at the hands of Niagara County Community College, 5-0.
