The D'Youville baseball team returns to Northtown Center for the first time since the end of the 2019 season when the Saints play host to a non-conference doubleheader against Bryant & Stratton - Albany on Saturday, April 17, with first pitch for game one set for 1:30 p.m.
Last Time Out – The Saints took the long trek down to Aston, Pa. on Tuesday, April 13, to complete a three-game series at Lincoln that was postponed in late March. The Lions used three big innings, a four-run fourth, a three-run sixth and a four-run seventh inning, to down the Saints and complete the delayed sweep. Tuesday's hit parade saw both teams combine for 27 hits, 12 from D'Youville and 16 from Lincoln ... Freshman Alex Dzimian and senior Kevin Sanders piled up three hits at the plate each, while junior Shane Critelli clobbered a pair of doubles in the contest.
D'Youville by the Numbers – Sophomore catcher Jeremy Glinski leads the Saints at the plate with a .333 batting average, followed by Dzimian (.273 AVG) and sophomore catcher Mateo Santos (.208 AVG) ... Dzimian sits atop the D'Youville RBI leaders with seven runs driven in, followed by Santos (six RBI) ... Glinski's 12 stolen bases this season are not only a team-high but lead the East Coast Conference by a five-steal margin ... On the mound, senior Adam Lampman has posted 27 strikeouts, a number that sits tied for second in the ECC.
B&S Albany at a Glance – Through 24 games this season, the Bobcats sit at 4-20, dropping seven out of their last 10 contests. The Bobcats' last win came on April 5, in a 16-5 victory over SUNY Adirondack. Of players with at least 25 at-bats, Gabriel Murillo's .404 batting average is a team-high, followed up by Rocco DeVito (.333 AVG) and Exavier Santiago (.290 AVG).
