DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA – The D'Youville women's tennis team returned to the court Saturday, falling at the University of the District of Columbia, 7-0, in East Coast Conference action. The loss drops the Saints to 3-6 overall this season with an 0-4 mark in league play.
Freshman Yuliia Kastelian was the only Saint to win a set Saturday against the first-place and undefeated Firebirds. The Ukraine native lost her singles match 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles play, the pairs of Kashtelian/Hoover and Austin/Whipple each lost 6-0. The Saints ended up defaulting the #6 singles match and the #3 doubles match to UDC.
The Saints will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Daemen with play set to get underway at 3:30 p.m.
